Endoscopy (Gastroscopy & Colonoscopy)

Gastrointestinal endoscopy is a diagnostic method used to examine the esophagus, stomach, duodenum and large intestine. The primary types of gastrointestinal endoscopy and the regions that they examine include:

• Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (Upper GI endoscopy): Esophagus, stomach and duodenum
• Colonoscopy: All of the large intestine
• Recto-sigmoidoscopy: The last part of the large intestine: rectum and sigmoid.
